  Scrapping standards for lifting belts

If the performance of the lifting belt does not meet the requirements after a certain period of use, it will be downgraded or scrapped according to the damage situation. There is no standard for the specific service life, which depends on the actual usage situation.

  1. For downgraded lifting belts, the original identification should be covered, including their rated lifting capacity, length, etc. It should be re labeled and reclassified and stored on the corresponding tool rack as required.

When the surface of the flat lifting belt is worn or damaged, it should be downgraded, but as long as one of the damaged surfaces reaches 1/4 of the bandwidth, it should be scrapped.

  3. The inner core of the circular lifting belt is load-bearing, and the envelope is not load-bearing, only providing protection. If the envelope is torn or scratched without damaging the inner core, it can be downgraded economically without affecting its safety performance after inspection.

  4. If any of the following situations occur during the use of the lifting belt, it should be scrapped.

  5. (including protective sleeves) Severe wear, perforation, cutting, tearing, and dead knots in the lifting straps.

  6. The load-bearing joint cracks, the stitching is worn off, and the fiber surface is rough and prone to peeling.

Due to the influence of time and environment, the fibers of the lifting belt soften and age, the elasticity decreases, and the strength weakens.

  8. The surface of the lifting belt is excessively loose, corroded, damaged by acid and alkali, melted or burnt.

  9. The red warning line of the lifting belt is exposed.

  10. If the tag of the lifting belt is lost or severely worn, making it difficult to identify and determine the rated lifting capacity of the lifting belt, it should be scrapped.

  11. For lifting belts that have not been used for a long time, static and dynamic load tests should be conducted before use to check if their performance has changed, in order to ensure their safe use.

  12. Considering the aging factors of polymer materials in the lifting belt structure, in addition to daily inspections, static and dynamic load tests should be conducted once a year under normal usage environment, rated load, and low usage frequency. They can continue to be used under normal performance conditions. If the usage environment is harsh and the usage frequency is high, in addition to pre operation inspection, static and dynamic load tests should also be conducted every six months to verify its safety. Unqualified testing and calibration should be scrapped.
